Choose where the model runs
A local system runs the model on infrastructure selected for the project. An API service delegates inference to a provider. These choices differ in data handling, available hardware, maintenance and workflow requirements. Model location alone does not replace access control and log management.
Test before integration
Evaluation can begin with representative questions and documents suitable for the test. Compare answers, errors, processing time and resource use. A document-based chatbot should let readers inspect its sources and handle questions it cannot answer reliably.
The RunAI reference
RunAI is the portfolio project dedicated to AI infrastructure and OpenAI-compatible APIs. It provides a concrete API integration reference. An on-premise deployment needs a separate assessment of the customer’s environment.
